For years, ThriveCart meant one thing: pay once, use it forever. That changed on 17 July 2026. ThriveCart now sells monthly and yearly plans, starting at $37 a month billed yearly or $47 month to month, with a 30-day free trial.

Many guides still quote the old lifetime price as if nothing happened. Here is what the new model looks like, who it affects, and whether it is better or worse for a new buyer. We re-checked ThriveCart on 4 November 2026.

What changed, in plain words

  • Before: a single lifetime payment. No monthly bill.
  • Now: monthly or yearly subscriptions, plus a 30-day free trial you could not get before.
  • Lifetime: ThriveCart’s site still mentions a lifetime option but shows no public price. We don’t print an old figure we can’t confirm.
  • Existing lifetime customers were not affected, per the press release.

Is this worse for new buyers?

Not always. A lifetime deal only pays off if you stay for years. The new model lowers the cost of trying ThriveCart and lets you leave without losing a big upfront payment.

How to think about it

Standard billed yearly is $444. If you would have stayed with ThriveCart for many years, a lifetime option (if offered) could still be cheaper. If you are testing your first offer, a $47 month or a 30-day trial is far less risk.

A conversation I keep having

“I missed the lifetime deal, so ThriveCart is dead to me.” I hear some version of this from course sellers. But the question is never the old price. It is whether $37 a month beats your other options today. At the entry level, it still does.

Monthly or yearly: the numbers

Plan Monthly billing, per year Yearly billing You save
Standard $564 $444 $120
Pro+ $1,044 $804 $240

Our arithmetic from the prices above.

A simple lifetime test

If ThriveCart offers you a lifetime price, here is a quick way to judge it. Divide the lifetime price by $444, the yearly cost of Standard. The answer is how many years you must stay before lifetime pays off.

For example, a lifetime price equal to three years of Standard only makes sense if you are confident you will still use ThriveCart in year four. Most small businesses change at least one tool in that time, so be honest with yourself.

What to do if you are choosing a checkout now

  1. Start the 30-day trial. It is new with this change, and long enough to build and test a real checkout.
  2. Decide which plan you need. Standard covers most sellers. Pro+ adds dunning, affiliates and multiple bumps.
  3. Pay monthly at first, then switch to yearly once your checkout converts.
  4. Ask about lifetime only if you plan to stay for many years, and get the price in writing.
