Podia Pricing 2026: Mover vs Shaker and the $840 Rule

Podia pricing is easy to read and easy to get wrong. The cheapest plan, Mover, costs $42 a month billed yearly. It also takes 5% of every sale. Shaker costs twice as much but takes nothing. So which one is cheaper depends on one number: your monthly sales.

I checked Podia’s pricing page on 3 November 2026. Here is every plan, the break-even point, and how Podia compares with Kajabi and Thinkific.

Podia is one of the few course platforms with email marketing on every plan. That changes the math. A Thinkific or Teachable setup usually needs a separate email tool. Podia often does not.

What a bigger email list costs

Each plan includes a set number of email subscribers: 100 on Mover, 500 on Shaker and 1,000 on Earthquaker. Above that, Podia adds a monthly charge. Here is what its pricing page listed on 6 November 2026:

So Shaker with 1,000 subscribers costs $98 a month billed yearly. With 5,000 it costs $120. That is still less than most platforms plus a separate email tool.

Mover or Shaker? The $840 rule

Shaker costs $42 a month more than Mover. Mover takes 5% of sales. So Shaker pays for itself once 5% of your sales is more than $42. That happens at $840 a month.

What the 5% fee costs you in a year

A monthly fee is easy to ignore. A yearly one is not. Here is what Mover’s 5% adds up to over twelve months:

Look at the last row. A creator selling $6,000 a month on Mover pays Podia about $3,100 a year more than needed. One plan switch fixes it.

What Podia really costs: three real setups

1. A designer selling templates for $300 a month

Mover: $42 plus $15 in fees, so $57 a month. Email is included for up to 100 subscribers; a bigger list adds $10 to $18 a month at small sizes. Shaker would cost $84 and save nothing at this level.

2. A coach selling a $150 program to ten people a month

That is $1,500 in sales. Mover would cost $42 plus $75, or $117. Shaker costs a flat $84, before any email add-on. Shaker saves $33 a month, about $396 a year.

3. A creator with several courses selling $6,000 a month

Shaker still costs $84. With 150 products allowed, most creators never need more. Earthquaker at $150 is for very large catalogs. Check its extra features on Podia’s page before paying the $66 difference.

How Podia compares on price

Because email is included, compare Podia with other platforms plus email. At 1,000 subscribers, billed yearly:

Even with the email add-on, Podia Shaker is the cheapest of the big four at 1,000 subscribers, at $98 a month. At 5,000 subscribers it is $120, still well below Kajabi Growth at $199.

Who should pick Podia

Podia is the simplest way we know to sell courses, downloads and coaching with email in the same tool. Shaker at $84 a month billed yearly takes no fee on sales and includes email for 500 subscribers. Even at 1,000 subscribers ($98 with the add-on), it is the cheapest of the big four course platforms once you count email.

Its weak point is the cheap plan. Mover looks like a bargain at $42, but its 5% fee grows with every sale. Above $840 a month, Mover costs more than Shaker. Many creators stay on Mover for months after they cross that line.

The thing to watch is the email allowance. Shaker includes 500 subscribers, and bigger lists cost $14 to $56 more a month up to 10,000. Even then, Podia stays cheaper than Kajabi, or Thinkific plus Kit, at the same list size. If you need a large community or advanced funnels, look at Skool or Kajabi instead.

How to pay less for Podia

• Start on Mover. While sales are under $840 a month, it is the cheaper plan.
• Switch the month you pass $840. Set a calendar reminder. Each $1,000 of monthly sales above that line costs $50 extra on Mover.
• Use Podia’s email instead of a second tool. At 1,000 subscribers, Shaker’s email add-on is $14 a month. Kit Creator at the same size is $33.
• Do not buy Earthquaker for “room to grow”. Shaker allows 150 products. Upgrade only when you need more or need one of its features.
• Build during the trial. Podia gives 14 days free with no card. Set up your products first.

Card processing comes from your payment provider on every plan. Podia’s 0% on Shaker means Podia takes nothing. It does not mean Stripe or PayPal takes nothing.

Podia vs Teachable at the same sales

Podia and Teachable both sell a cheap plan with a fee and a dearer plan without one. Here is how the cheap plans compare, billed yearly:

At low sales they are level. As you sell more, Podia’s lower fee wins, and Podia includes email. On the no-fee plans, Teachable Builder ($69) is cheaper than Podia Shaker ($84), but you will likely add an email tool to Teachable.
